Over the past 15 years, we have supported large coalitions — some with more than 600 members — as well as global organizations with a presence in over 150 countries, international convenings aimed at developing global guidelines, and the implementation of multi-country and multi-setting initiatives. Through these experiences, we have both learned from our clients and contributed to building healthy, respectful, and well-structured partnerships. Our work focuses on creating collaborative processes that enable stakeholders to work effectively together and achieve the shared goals that brought them together in the first place, ultimately contributing to meaningful social impact.
Power dynamics are present in every partnership. The most effective way to address them is to acknowledge them openly and understand where they come from — whether linked to leadership roles, donor relationships, decision-making authority, access to resources, or differing levels of technical expertise. Our approach promotes transparent dialogue around these dynamics, while identifying realistic ways to strengthen mutual learning, participation, and collaboration among partners. We also support timely and constructive conversations to help prevent or mitigate tensions that could undermine the shared goals that brought the partnership together.
